Hi Chris
It's been discussed and planned forever, but there's no development on that feature currently.

Subject: [worldKit-dev] base layers
Hi all,
I just implemented Worldkit for a quick demo project and tied it into
Drupal for annotations, taxonomy, user permissions etc.
http://cdot.eparticipation.net.
I like Worldkit because it let's me overlay some simple gis layers
without having to set up a wms server. But - people keep asking me if I
can pull in google/yahoo base layers. I wish I could, and I remember
there was a discussion going on about implementing this at some point.
Is this still on the roadmap?
Wish I could help tackle that, but my actionscript programming skills
are poor at best.
Happy holidays!
Chris
