[worldKit-dev] GIF images to mark annotation

Hi Giorgio

GIF and PNG are supported in the latest Flash Player -- FP version 8.

This requires that both, the user has FP 8 installed and that worldKit is compiled for Flash Player 8.

Currently worldKit is targetted at Flash Player 7 only. Options are .. to require Flash Player 8 for worldKit; or produce two version of worldKit.

I'm starting to lean towards requiring Flash Player 8, to avoid confusion of multiple current versions of worldKit, and utilising all the latest features of the flash player. However, this would require users to upgrade, and version 8 penetration is still about at 50%

Thoughts?

Mikel

Subject: [worldKit-dev] GIF images to mark annotation

Hi list,
I see worldkit allow to use custom images to mark annotation but it allows
only the Jpeg format. If I am not wrong this format doesn't allow to use
transparency and therefore only square shaped icons are convenient to use if
we don't want to have an antiaestethic effect. Is there any chance in the
future to use GIF icons?
Thanx
Giorgio
