Who is your target audience? Non commercial developers? Commercial 
developers wanting to integrate it in other (commercial) products?

I would think that the first group would not mind it being GPL (I 
wouldn't). The second group might be better off with the proprietary 
license (dual license?). On the other hand, how many people would you 
scare away with the GPL, compared to possible code returns?

I usually go for GPL, or where that is too 'poison pill' MPL.
